Our Journey
2020
Grace Ground Initiative – Empowering Widows and Communities was founded with a mission to empower widows through education and support programs.
2021
Launched the first community outreach program serving 200 widows and children across the region.
2022
Expanded into healthcare initiatives, offering free medical checkups and health workshops for vulnerable families.
2024
Reached over 1,000 beneficiaries through education scholarships, healthcare access, and community empowerment projects.
About the Founder

Dr. Helen Ugbo is a distinguished professional with a strong background in business and accounting. She has devoted her career to public service, entrepreneurship, and the empowerment of vulnerable populations. With a Doctorate in Management from Highstone Global University, Brooklyn, New York, and certification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMAN), Dr. Ugbo brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to every role she undertakes.

Dr. Ugbo began her career with the National Youth Service Corps at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) in Edo State. She later worked as Estate Manager at Pokobros Group, where she gained valuable management experience. As Chief Executive Officer of Akona Real Estate, she established herself as a successful entrepreneur. Her passion for philanthropy led her to found the Nwanyi Ogwuanwu Widows Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering widows and other vulnerable populations.
Political Career
In addition to her professional and philanthropic work, Dr. Ugbo has been actively involved in politics, having served as former Local Government Chairman of both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) where she championed inclusive leadership and grassroots development.Personal Life
